VLR_ APPRL has the honour of partnering with Generation Bangladesh, an organisation that is not only impacting the lives of the children in Bangladesh but is also actively training and building the next generation of leaders. $10 from every tee sold will be going directly to the team at Generation Bangladesh and will be used to support the work they do in the nation.

 

Here is a bit about Generation Bangladesh from it's founder, Sukhen Biswas.

"In the earlier years of my life I worked as a Youth Coordinator and also completed my masters in Social Science. Over the years of working for the church, I noticed many newly established churches but didn't find any ministries for the children in those churches. There were many families with young kids and I felt that these were our future leaders and if we did not teach them, the churches would die out.

After hearing clearly the calling, I resigned from my job and started to work for the children fully depending on our mighty Lord Jesus Christ. Since we obeyed His calling in our lives, He did many miracles in our lives and ministries and helped us in an awesome way to meet the spiritual needs of the Children of Bangladesh.

During last 15 years of hard works, we started a Christian Children Ministry called ‘Generation Bangladesh’ and there are two main components in our Ministry.

One is Generation Bangladesh and another one is Operation Generation.

Generation Bangladesh is registered as a Trust and works as fully Christian Ministry for Children.

We do Children Camps, Teen age conferences, Correspondence Courses among Children, Sunday School Teachers Training, National Children Workers Conference, Develop Christian Children’s Materials and Youth Leadership Training etc. GB became a Nationwide Children ministry which is working with 18 different Denominations and Church bodies in our Country and with many para-churches and Christian organisations.

Our Social Wing called Operation Generation is working fully for Children at Risk and registered as a local charity organisation with Bangladesh government (NGO affairs bureau). We run Family-Like Children Homes, Health Clinic for needy Mother and Child, feeding school for the needy children, help line for street children in Dhaka, border monitoring program for stop the trafficking etc.

Over the last 17 years, Generation Bangladesh ran a total of 519 Children Camps and through those camps 78,549 children heard Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of them received Jesus as their saviour and following Him faithfully now. Some of the kids from our kid’s camp are now working with GB as student workers which are a real fruits and joy for all of us.

 

We were able to train 7,107 Children’s Workers through our 142 School of Children Ministry training programs and through 5 National Children’s Workers Conferences.
